![]() Isn’t that how we are with God, too? We think that if we kick around and cry enough, He will be merciful because of us. Whichever was the case, tears usually served as potential alibis. As little kids, we hoped that if we squeezed out enough crocodile tears, our parents would take pity on us and either restrain from the wooden spoon or, for the innocent ones, just give us a hug ’cause we looked dejected and helpless. The line that really gets me is “You don’t need tears for alibis”.
